Mark and his family recently relocated to Glen Arbor, but he’s no stranger to the area. “I’ve spent the last 20 years visiting Glen Lake, and I’ve run the Glen Arbor Solstice half marathon course countless times over the years”, says Jerva. “When I saw that the race director position was open I thought it would be a perfect way to connect with the local community. This area, and this course, are one of my favorite places to run. There’s absolutely nothing like getting to the top of Inspiration Point and looking over Big Glen Lake. In his role as leader of the event, Jerva will be responsible for event permitting, sponsorship relations, volunteer coordination, and many other details related to the event, which has hosted 400-500 participants annually since its inception in 2012.
